The Assistant Credit Manager will be responsible for taking ownership of the divisions credit insurance and litigation up to judgement. The individual must have a minimum of 5 years' experience at a senior credit controller level looking to take the next step into Credit Management. The candidate will be part or CICM qualified. This is a very exciting opportunity to work in an FMCG environment with a company that recruits talented individuals and supports their development. The role is standalone based in Liverpool and will include some travel, so a clean Driving License and car are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Good knowledge of credit insurance, including rules and MEP periods and the ability to apply knowledge to ensure debtor ledger compliance
  • Confident dealing with escalated aged debt and the legal collections process
  • Preparation of Legal Cases through County Court system. Acquiring Judgment on Debtors to meet claim guidelines up to and including enforcement
  • Use of HCEO (High Court Enforcement Officers)
  • Reviewing credit applications and credit reference agencies to set credit limits and ensure credit worthiness
  • The ability to negotiate payment plans in conjunction with the businesses and insurance policy
  • Processing Insurance claim submissions
  • Liaison with Gallagher's (Brokers) on instalment arrangements and claims
  • Assist with preparation of Credit Policy Renewals
  • Updating our insurers of payments received, notifications and closures of claims
  • Maintenance and management of our Master Control Limit Management System i.e. Credit Limits, Review Dates
  • Running of Agency reports (Graydons) to establish credit limits and to set time frames,
  • Production of Trading History Reports on a monthly basis with monthly reviews
  • Ability to analyse and interpret ledger data
  • Able to make sound judgment decisions taking into account credit insurance requirements
  • Preparation of 7-day letters and Pre-Legal's (awareness and experience of issuing Pre Action Protocols)
  • Carrying out exceeded credit reviews inclusive of preparation
  • Conducting Debtor Reviews with Foodservice Credit Control Supervisor, to ensure compliance to credit insurance policy, close working relationship needs to be developed with credit control team.
  • Preparation of Monthly Debtor Analysis for Group Credit Manager
  • Working knowledge and understanding of financial data
  • Provide reports and statistics to the Group Credit Manager on a weekly/monthly basis

The Person:

  • Knowledge of Legal and insurance side of credit control
  • Working at supervisor or team leader level
  • Excel skills are essential - pivots and v-look ups
  • Experience working within a fast pace environment
