The Role:

  • An exciting opportunity for a Bid Writer to join our clients Sales and Account Management group, where you will help support the development of new business and opportunities with their commercial teams in the UK and Ireland by planning, writing and preparing the company's tender responses and other commercial proposals.

  • The role will focus on working closely with subject matter experts to storyboard, draft, and finalise quality written responses and submission documents across a range of strategic, technical, and complex bids.

  • The Bid Writer will play a pivotal role in ensuring customer value is articulated in compelling and persuasive ways that clearly differentiate propositions and maximise scoring against customer evaluation criteria.

  • The team are doing roughly 60 tenders a year.

  • Lots of science based info in the bids so needs someone that can simplify that and tell a story showing the value & benefits of what the client can deliver.

  • Leads / supports content creation sprints to rapidly produce high quality content.

  • Leads / supports the bid team to develop the proposal strategy including SWOT analysis, win themes, customer insight and evidence.

  • Leads / supports the bid plan workstream to create and review the tender response / proposal.

  • Execute final reviews of high value, complex bids in process including substantive editing, copyediting and proofreading.

  • Prepares edited content post lessons learnt to be moderated by the Bid Content Manager and added to set answers in the content library - creating a centralised platform for templates.

  • Remote working but will need to go to H/O once a month for team meeting.

The Ideal Person:

  • Looking for someone with previous experience in producing high quality written documentation and can produce complex bids in a compelling and engaging fashion.

  • Must have a good level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

  • Must be able to write fluently and persuasively whilst producing work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Being able to work to agreed tight deadlines with several jobs simultaneously is key.

  • A strong communicator with a high-level of emotional intelligence and is a natural collaborator.

  • Someone that is a story teller and used to working on story boards and can show the value & benefits the client can deliver.

  • Team player.

  • Has the ability to work on multiple tenders.

  • Expert in proof reading & copy editing.

  • The ability to work with graphics.

  • Matrix management.

  • Good time management.
