About the role and what we re looking forWe are looking for someone to provide business and administrative support for the Private Sector Housing Team. The Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) administrator is responsible for overseeing the administration of the councils home repairs and adaptations grants and loans across South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse districts. They will also provide general administration support to the Private Sector Housing Team with other administrative and financial tasks.• Immediate team Private Sector Housing Team• Service team Housing Needs• Line manager s job title Private Sector Housing Team LeaderThe main duties and responsibilities of the role include:• Providing advice and guidance on the application process for Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs) and other home repair grants and loans offered by the councils.• Acting as the point of contact for the public, the councils Home Improvement Agency and housing associations for DFGs and other grant and loan application enquiries.• Processing, monitoring and reporting on grant and loan applications and grant and loan spend.• Processing grant payments (invoicing and purchase orders) and deal with enquiries relating to payments.• Keeping accurate records using grant administration software, maintain confidentiality and updating and refining procedures and processes where needed.• Assisting with project work as required.• Organising, attending and participating in meetings and events as required.• Providing support to the Private Sector Housing Team with administrative and financial tasks.• Undertaking any other reasonable duties relating to the work of the Private Sector Housing.About youYour essential skills, knowledge and experience• two years experience in administration in a busy office environment• proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and E-mail• excellent attention to detail and organisational skills and competent with figure work• good oral and written communication skills• good interpersonal skills• experience of working well in a team• ability to adapt to using different databases and systems• able to be adaptable with patient and diplomatic• ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines• ability to multitaskYour essential qualifications5 GCSEs grades A-C or equivalent to include English and MathsRSA level II, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in MS Word and Excel.If you have the following experience or qualifications - it s a bonusExperience with Disabled Facilities Grants or Home Improvement Agency processes.Local Government experienceYour style and behavioursYour approach at work needs to mirror our vision and values that are detailed below.
