I am recruiting on behalf of a Cardiff based not-for-profit organisation who is seeking a Finance Offer to join its small finance team. My client is able to offer hybrid working for the successful candidate as well as the opportunity to join a friendly and stable finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping accurate accounting records and to manage the financial controls of the Group and each of its subsidiaries and any associated companies.
Reporting into the FD, the main duties of the role will include -
- Keep accurate records for all daily transactions
- Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process invoices
- Process payroll
- Reconcile bank statements and other control accounts
- Prepare draft monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts
- Submit monthly/periodic statutory (VAT, PAYE, etc) returns
- Submit monthly/periodic regulatory/compliance returns
- Produce actual v budget/forecast reports
- Update internal systems with financial data
- Participate in financial audits
- Assist with budget preparation
- Review and implement financial policies
- Manage the office administration functions in the absence of the Office Manager
- Support the Finance Director & Company Secretary as required.
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week
Salary on offer: £ 30,000 per annum for a 37.5 hour week
25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)

Requirements and skills
- Proven work experience as a Finance Officer or similar role
- Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
- Experience of using financial software (Sage 50 Accounts)
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Knowledge of financial regulations
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Sharp time management skills
- Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
- Professional qualification as an accounting technician
