A well-known artist management & production company is looking for a Financial Controller to cover a maternity for 15-18 months. This is a critical role within the team supporting both the UK business and Group as a whole. Reporting to the Finance Director UK, the Financial Controller UK has responsibility for managing the day-to-day activities of the UK finance team:This is an excellent opportunity to provide high quality analysis to support results as well as future business decisions as well as driving a continuous improvement in processes and engendering a business service culture. You will be a key point of contact with the external banking team and supporting the Finance Director to ensure that the service provided meets business requirements.Key responsibilities Oversee routine meetings with Department Heads/Finance Managers to ensure performance is being appropriately tracked/costs controlled Key point of contact for Department Heads and Managers. Collation and analysis of the group consolidated reports: Group P&L and balance sheet (both management and statutory) Group budget and forecasts Group cash flow reporting and forecasts (including quarterly bank loan covenant testing). Oversee client reporting; producing reports, brand analysis, client projections and answering management queries as required. Preparation of the monthly management accounts, forecast and budgets for the central functions, ensuring effective cost control. Ensure the recharging (and allocation) of internal costs is performed accurately and in a timely manner. Review monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations across the group. Central coordination, preparation, and review of statutory group accounting, audit, and tax, liaising with auditors and tax advisors as required. Liaising with divisional finance functions to ensure all corporation tax returns for the group are prepared and quarterly instalment payments are made on a timely basis. Oversee preparation and submission of the quarterly group VAT return and monthly payments on account. Assisting with preparation of board materials for quarterly board meetings Ensuring external client reporting deadlines are met across the TV production, Live and Distribution arms of the business Ensuring compliance with standards and regulations, ensuring control environment is appropriate. Ensuring efficiency of process and pro-actively identifying opportunities for process improvement..About you Qualified Accountant (c. 5+ years PQE) with experience working in a similar environment ( client/royalties reporting or TV production) Strong background in accounting, particularly in UK GAAP, group consolidations, and taxation Track record of effective collaboration across teams & a positive attitude to change. Able to demonstrate examples of improving processes, adding value and influencing people
