Graduate Rail Engineer (Manchester)

My client, a major multidisciplinary Consultancy specialising in Civil, Structural and Water Engineering are looking for a Graduate Rail Engineer to join their brilliant team in Manchester. My client aims to connect people and places while supporting thriving economies, they work on a wide variety of schemes within both the private and public sectors and are looking for a Graduate who will help to shape the rail networks of the future. They are a unique team who specialise in infrastructure and buildings and have a passion for keeping the country moving so communities can prosper.

Responsibilities:

You will be involved in preparing the full engineering data package required for the commencement of design, including answering queries and questions as needed. You will be participating in the selection of an option for development and assisting in the preparation of technical outputs to the highest standard. You will become familiar with health, safety and welfare regulations and follow the relevant regulations in your practice. Development of engineering options for a proposal will be a part of the role, ensuring that you have considered safety, reliability, ease of construction, maintainability, and operational capacity modelling. You will undertake cross discipline engineering checks in association with engineers of other disciplines.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree with a grade of 2:1 or above.
  • Brilliant communication skills, both verbal and oral, with the ability to communicate using different mediums.
  • The desire to work towards chartership.
  • A great understanding of Construction Design and Management (CDM) 2015 Regulations and Common Safety Method (CSM) 2013 Regulations.
  • Fantastic time management and organisational skills, with proven ability to meet project deadlines and budget targets.
  • The ability to provide technical guidance to less experienced team members, alongside being able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
