Title: HR Officer Reporting to: HR Business Partner Job Role Responsibilities: The HR Officer will assist the HR Business Partner (HRBP) in delivering high quality, timely Onboarding, HR operations and HR casework services to the business. Key Responsibilities: Onboarding: Work with the Onboarding team to ensure that all applicants are fully compliant before they start working. This includes ensuring references are returned, right to work documents are received, DBS checks are undertaken and application forms fully completed. Undertake DBS risk assessments promptly and sensitively and report on these to senior management as required. Assist with preparing for and support during compliance audits by local authorities, TfL, PCO Office and NHS Trusts. HR Operations Respond to emails received to the HR Inbox within SLA, including answering generic queries promptly, comprehensively and professionally, actioning contract requests and amendments, drafting responses to more complex queries on behalf of the HRBP and escalating higher-level queries to HRPB and Head of HR promptly and where necessary. Produce regular reports and analyse data relating to starters/leavers, holiday take-up and employee absence, ensuring accuracy and professional presentation of data. Liaise effectively with managers and Payroll Team where required. Create and maintain accurate and comprehensive employee records on Toolkit, Cleric and Croner Case Management systems in accordance with GDPR requirements. Undertake project work as directed by HRBP, Head of HR and senior management team as required. HR Casework Support line managers in managing short-term sickness absence and AWOL processes, ensuring advice is accurate, comprehensive and timely. Support line managers in conducting disciplinary investigations, ensuring adherence to best practice approaches. Attendance at some casework meetings and producing related correspondence. Support line managers in responding to complaints. Escalating to HRBP promptly where required. Other duties broadly in line with these as determined by business needs. Key Skills: Effective use of MS Office suite is essential Excellent organisational skills prioritises effectively and largely independently and demonstrates a sense of urgency where necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in which errors are rare and professionalism and collaborative working is always demonstrated. Excellent interpersonal skills developing influencing skills and professional agility. Takes responsibility for own professional development and accepts opportunities to learn. Demonstrates commitment to HATS values. CIPD level 3, or equivalent
