REED Engineering are working alongside a leading engineering service company who are looking to add 1 x Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis within the renewables team. You will be based within the Altens area of Aberdeen.
Hours: Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5.30pm, Friday 8.30am - 5pm or Flexi Friday finish at 2.30pm
Salary: DOE
Candidate Requirements -
- Mechanical or Structural Engineering Degree or HND with minimum 5 years post qualification experience
- Proficient with FEA and 3D CAD software experience (essential), with ANSYS or Orcaflex experience (desirable)
- Creating technical reports detailing work completed and the products produced with engineering calculations and finite element analysis (FEA)
- Ability to work as part of a team within a fast paced, dynamic environment
Typical Duties -
- Provide support to sales, projects and R&D working to tight deadlines and budgets
- Design products from initial concept stage through to production
- Assist in the development ideas for new and existing products and company design systems
- Produce 3D CAD models and detail drawings to provide solutions for clients
- Hands on approach with moulding designs, running tests within each stage of development
