About us

Avencia Consulting are working on behalf of a leading Insurer based in the City, who are expanding their Technical Operations team. They are looking for a Messaging Services Manager to join on a permanent basis.

The role

This role is an essential part of the Technical Operations Team, and the purpose of the role is to manage and process all the electronic messages received in a timely and accurate manner.

Key accountabilities

Premium Messages

  • Review and resolve the premium error messages, ensuring the messages get processed in a timely manner.
  • Work with the Credit Control and Finance teams to ensure that the message priority processing is in line with our aged debt, unallocated cash and IPT reporting requirements.

Claims Messages

  • Review and resolve the claims error messages, ensuring the messages get processed in a timely manner.
  • Work with the Credit Control and Finance teams to ensure that the message priority processing is in line with our aged debt, unallocated cash and IPT reporting requirements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Involvement in key meetings including Aged Debt meetings.
  • Work with the Credit Control and Finance teams to ensure that the message priority processing is in line with our aged debt, unallocated cash and IPT reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with our third parties and IT team to improve and enhance the messaging rules and validations. Define the scope, document the requirements, complete the user acceptance testing and deliver the supporting training collateral.

Reporting

  • Monitor the reasons for message rejections and produce statistics to identify any improvements or changes that can be made to address the root causes.
  • Calculate and maintain the automation rates to monitor volume of received messages vs automated messages. Drive forward the processes and controls to deliver operational efficiencies by improving automation rates and data quality.
  • Ensure that all Messaging process documentation is kept updated with any process changes.
  • Produce a weekly status summary for Management reporting for both premiums and claims.
  • Support the Operations Team in defining and implementing the Target Operating Model for Messaging working to identify and implement efficiency and effectiveness improvements.
  • Design, develop and maintain messaging metrics, reports and dashboards, to drive key business decisions.

External Market Meetings

  • Attend the market meetings related to message processing (TAUG and ACORD4ALL) and ensure that any new messaging releases are tested and implemented seamlessly.
  • Attend the weekly meetings with our third party partners.
  • Participate in Project work and Process Improvement Initiatives as required.

Skills & experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with working knowledge of the DXC messaging service and the Insurance Market Repository.
  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated Operations Management experience.
  • A practical understanding of Underwriting and policy administration systems.
  • Basic competency in MS Office applications: Word and Adobe Standard required.
  • Advanced Outlook and Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to master new concepts quickly, take initiative and manage messaging team.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders both internal and externally across the Company.
  • Must be able to self-lead and work effectively both independently and with teams, specifically third party partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver and manage accurate thoughtful detail-oriented work within tight deadlines.
