Role Purpose

This exciting role offers an exceptional opportunity to build on the procurement work carried out to date and set up strong procurement foundations for the whole organisation following an organisational strategy review.The organisation is committed to Net Zero carbon emissions by 2030 and the Procurement Manager will be pivotal in designing procurement processes and policy to support this ambitious goal. Some key projects for this role over the next 12 months will be:

  • Design and implement new procurement policy to support new organisation strategy including high standards for ethical and environment-positive procurement;
  • Set high level procurement strategy across indirect spend;
  • Finance and IT infrastructure appraisal, with recommendations for next steps in 2023;
  • Modern Slavery risk assessment;
  • Travel services tender.

The key purpose of this role is to lead the Procurement Team, drive smart procurement decisions, deliver procurement strategy and policy for the organisation, and to achieve the highest degree of ethical and sustainable purchasing and the best value for money across all indirect spend activities. The Procurement Manager is leader of the Procurement Team and will provide mentoring support for their team members. CIPS qualification is available to all Procurement Team members including the Procurement Manager.Work life balance is key at this organisation. It's a busy role and they respect your down-time.   • Drive the best possible value from business cases, and sourcing exercises to reduce costs, maximise quality, manage risk and increase ROI
  • Driving positive change through the implementation of procurement best-practice processes and governance
  • Mentoring and supporting the Procurement Team
  • Overseeing contract and supplier management
  • Stakeholder management
  • Negotiating contracts and spend
  • Designing and implementing sourcing strategies across buying categories including IT, HR, Fundraising and Communications
  • Partnering with the relevant parts of the organisation to define, create and manage supplier lists, framework agreements and standard contractual terms in a collaborative way

The role is incredibly varied and reflects the activities of the organisation across all indirect buying categories. The successful Procurement Manager will be tactical and strategic, decisive and collaborative with an eye for opportunity and influence. They will be a supportive and visible leader within the business, whilst mentoring the Procurement Team to deliver excellent results and reach personal goals.Benefits:

To be considered for this role, you will need to be outcome-focused, have previous experience gained in creating frameworks / supplier lists, leading end to end procurement processes, previous leadership experience and competent with driving value. A strong understanding on how to constructively engage with stakeholders is vital in creating long-term foundations with the senior leadership and suppliers.Some travel within the UK may be required.
