Are you an experienced Teacher looking for your next step into a SENCO role?

A lovely Catholic Primary School at the heart of Elephant and Castle, are looking for a new SENCO to start with them from September. This is a small school with only 2 form entry and some year groups are 1 form, the SENCO would be looking after the 10-15 EHCP students within the school. This Primary School is only a short walk from Elephant and Castle train station making it accessible from all over London and south London. The staff are friendly and the Headteacher has created an environment where staff are encouraged to be creative with lessons, work closely with other form teachers and support each other.

The Headteacher is looking for a SENCO who can start from September and being their own ideas and style to role. For the right candidate this role can be full time and possibly including some teaching days or part time, either 2/3 full days or 4/5 half days. This Primary School are also able to offer a permanent contract, fixed term contract or a contract on agency.

In order to be successful for the role of SENCO you will need to have SENCO or previous teaching experience, strong knowledge of the UK curriculum and previous experience working with students with Education Health Care Plans (EHCP). You will need to be able to work off your own initiative, be passionate about Special Educational Needs (SEN) and be confident in your abilities to undertake the role.

You're responsibilities if successful will be ensuring that school policies and procedures are in line with the latest governmental SEN policies and regulations, liaising with therapists, medical specialists and tutors, preparing and delivering SEN training with teachers and other staff members, holding 1:1 sessions with SEN pupils and ensuring the school is equipped with the correct specialist SEN tools.
