Role Summary/Purpose The Senior Software Quality Engineer will be part of a team developing world class Network Optimization solutions focusing on process quality. You will be responsible for ensuring the product quality for the end to end system by managing development cycle process.

Essential Responsibilities This role provides leadership for process improvements, governance throughout the process, measurements system enhancements and tracking, and audit supervision.

In this role you will:

• Be responsible for the continuous improvement of process effectiveness and efficiency. Support engineering teams developing, optimizing and implementing new processes, while ensuring compliance with Digital Electronics and Wabtec policies.

• Lead operating rhythm to improve software First Pass Yield and defect escape rate

• Act as a gatekeeper for software releases, ensuring process is properly followed, and design rigor appropriately applied.

• Develop and maintain metrics / measurement system for continuous improvement

• Support continuous product and process improvement through detailed failure analysis for non-conformances, and development of effective and compliant solutions to prevent recurrence of issues and quality escapes.

• Observe (audit) that documented standards, processes, and procedures are followed

Qualifications/Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

• 7 years of experience in software development, implementation and/or quality

• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and processes

• Strong understanding of Process Assurance activities, including Process Audits, Corrective and Preventative Actions and

• Strong team player

• High personal energy and self-accountability

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with both technical and nontechnical audiences

• Able to lead by influence while working in a matrix environment

Desired Characteristics

• Proven working experience in software design, development or validation

• MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

• Experience working in an Agile environment, leveraging either Scrum or Kanban

• 10 years of experience in software design or test

• Familiar with ISO requirements and lead auditor certified

• Familiar with CMMI requirements

• Familiar with Safety Critical Software Development
