If so we want to hear from you!We are supporting a leading Scottish social care and community development charity to recruit for a number of support practitioners join our teams in Edinburgh & Lothians.Related experience is not essential as long as you hold the right values and motivation. Honesty, respect, empathy, and compassion are key.We are looking for candidates have great listening and communication skills developed from a previous career in hospitality, retail or other similar sectors, then we have a role for you. We also value applications from people with experience in the social care sector. Whether your looking for full time, part time, or night shift we'll have the role for you.About the role:

  • As a support practitioner, you will support people to live the life they choose.
  • By following each person's unique support plan, you will recognise and build on people's strengths to encourage positive risk taking - helping foster choice and control.
  • Provide practical support and encouragement across all aspects of people's everyday lives, including support with relationships, mobility, medications, meals, emotions, personal care, money and budgets, health and well being,
  • communication, planning for the future, participation in sports and leisure activities, and any other
  • aspect of life that is recorded within someone's support plan.
  • Advocate on behalf of people, liaising with statutory and voluntary organisations, and linking people into community groups and support networks.
  • 35 days' holiday per year (pro rata) (Inclusive or exclusive of bank holidays?)
  • Time and a half payment for any time worked over 37.5 hours per week
  • The client will reimburse the SSSC fee for all new workers applying for SSSC registration
  • Anti-social hours enhancement payment of up to £1042 when undertaking waking night shifts (from 11pm to 7am) (How does this work?)
  • Recommend a Friend Scheme - up to £1000 for each permanent worker recommended (T&Cs apply)
  • Additional mileage contributions of 45p per mile
