Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager of Technology and Infrastructure, this position is responsible for maintaining all computer systems and data communications at BFMG/CCPN. The Systems Administrator will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, security, and optimization of all BFMG/CCPN server hardware, software, desktops and telephony systems. This individual will also analyze and resolve server/computer hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user support. The Systems Administrator will interact with other departments, clinic personnel, and outside providers in a professional and friendly manner, to create and maintain a positive relationship with our internal and external customers.
  • Administer and maintain Windows desktop operating systems, server operating systems, servers, wireless devices, andensure maximum resilience and reliability.
  • Manage backup and recovery administration and documentation.
  • Maintain server and client anti-virus and encryption solutions.
  • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the internet to aid inproblem resolution.
  • Remote application services configuration and management including sessions, printing, and policies.
  • Account creation and maintenance for various systems including Active Directory, e-mail, website access, etc.
  • Produce and update documentation for areas of responsibility.
  • Exceptional knowledge of hardware, including desktop, laptops, printers, and telephones.
  • Administer VOIP including changes both hardware and software.
  • Coordinate and/or perform cabling for network related tasks.
  • Creation of projects within help desk software, task creation, and project follow-up through closure.
  • Ensure Help Desk Work Orders document the help desk request problem-solving process, including process and allactions take through to final resolution.
  • Develop customer service and relationship with end users.
  • Oversee inventory of computer systems, servers, and software for hardware/software compliance.
  • Attend training seminars, conferences, and trade shows to broaden knowledge of current and future IT issues andtechnologies.
  • Analyze and resolve technical problems for established systems.
  • Conduct technical research on system upgrades and components to determine feasibility, cost, time required, andcompatibility with current system.
  • Recommend solutions for short-, medium-, and long-term projects.
  • Install, configure and maintain desktop/server components.
  • Install, upgrade, and configure network printing, directory structures, user access, security, software, and file services.
  • Establish user profiles, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed.
  • Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as systems to ensure connectivity and compatibility betweensystems.
  • Work with vendors to resolve complex problems.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
  • Collaborate with other departments as necessary.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

Requirements

8.1 Required: High School diploma equivalent.

8.2 Required: Two years experience working with systems administration experience in a multi-platform large user environment, or Associates degree in an IT related field.

8.3 Required: MCP certification or MCP equivalent.

8.4 Preferred: Technical certification such as MCSE, CCNA, and Network + are desired./
